BFH Workout #3: Jim Kelley

 

Jim Kelly, born on May 5, 1946, in Paris, Kentucky, was an American martial artist and actor best known for his roles in martial arts and action films during the 1970s.

 

Kelly gained fame for his memorable performance as Williams in the 1973 film "Enter the Dragon," alongside Bruce Lee. His on-screen charisma and martial arts skills contributed to the popularity of black actors in martial arts cinema. Kelly continued to appear in various films, including "Black Belt Jones" and "Three the Hard Way."

 

Beyond acting, he was a skilled martial artist, holding a black belt in karate. Jim Kelly's impact on martial arts cinema and his unique style left a lasting imprint on the genre.

Exercise List

Burpees

Start standing with your feet hip-width apart. Jump down to the ground, then jump back up to your feet.

Bicep Curls

Start standing with a dumbbell in each hand by your sides. Lift your chest and curl the dumbbells up towards your chest. Repeat the exercise.

Shoulder Press

Start standing with your feet hip-width apart. Grab a dumbbell in each hand and position them on your shoulders. Push the dumbbells to the ceiling and return them to the starting position. Keep your chest up and your eyes forward.

Goblet Grip Squats

Start standing with your feet shoulder-width apart and a dumbbell in your hand in a goblet grip. Drop down into a squat. Squeeze your glutes to push yourself back up to the starting position.

Jumping Jacks

Start with your feet hip-width apart and hands down by your side. Jump out and extend your hands over your head. Return to the starting position.
